Antica Postvmia

The name of this prestigious place stems from the very famous Postvmia Road, built in the Roman Age to link the capital with the homonym place, today part of Slovenia territory. In 148 BC the Postvmio Consul started the realisation of this perfectly straightroad, which crossing the Padana Valley, allowed to link among them three very important roads: Via Aurelia, Via Emilia and Via Popilia, as well as the Ligurian Sea with Adriatic Sea. From Genoa, the Postvumia Road could reach Aquileia, crossing the Polcevera and the Scrivia valleys, going past Litorna (whose ruins are now in Serravalle Scrivia), Dertona and Piacenza. From this latest it followed the course of the Po river, crossing Cremona, then Bedriatico, Verona, Vicenza and Oderzo Concordia (in the Roman Age known as Flumen Medoacus Opitergium).
